Deeply passionate about conservation, Miguel is also dedicated to reforestation on his property in the Tandayapa Valley, where he cultivates native plants to support local birdlife. With decades of hands-on experience across Ecuador’s key birding regions, he brings unmatched knowledge, reliability, and positive energy to every group he guides.

Marcelo is one of our top birding guides in Ecuador, with deep expertise in the Upper and Lower Amazon Basin, including tours to Yasuní National Park. Born in Tena, a gateway to the Amazon Rainforest, he developed his birding skills from an early age, building a profound knowledge of the region’s extraordinary biodiversity.

With over 30 years of experience in tourism and birding, Marcelo regularly leads our birders and photographers to Amazon lodges such as Napo Wildlife Center, Sacha Lodge, and Sani Lodge. He is highly skilled at locating target species and ensuring productive, rewarding field experiences.

Danilo is another Top Birding Guide in Ecuador, expert in the Northern Slopes of Ecuador. He is passionate about photography. He brings over 10 years of experience in Tourism and Birding.

Fredy Hipo is one of our top birding guides in Ecuador, born in Quito and raised in the rich birding hotspots of the Tandayapa Valley and the upper slopes of Pichincha. These early experiences shaped his deep specialization in both the western and eastern slopes of the northern Andes.

With over 20 years of birding experience, Fredy combines sharp field skills with a strong talent for bird photography. He is highly regarded for his ability to identify species by sound and call, helping guests connect with Ecuador’s remarkable birding diversity on a deeper level.

Jorge is one of our Top Birding Guides in Ecuador, with over 20 years of expeience in leading birding groups all over Ecuador, specially in the North and South of Ecuador. He is also an entrepenuer with his family, they are in conservation projects and birding feeders in Tandayapa Valley. His hobbys are painting and construction.

Freddy is another Top Birding Guide in Ecuador, expert in the North East and West Slopes of Ecuador. He is passionate about traveling and discovering new birding places. He has over 18 years of experience in Tourism and Birding.

Roberto has over 35 years of experience as a professional guide specializing in birds, guiding in Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, and Mexico. He works throughout Ecuador, particularly with groups interested in nature. His hobbies are birds and horses, as well as enjoying time with family and travelling to all the hidden cornes that Ecuador offers—its food, its customs, and its traditions.

Iris spent the first 23 years of her life near Munich, Germany, before moving to Ecuador as an anthropology student. Enchanted by Ecuador’s landscapes and cultures, she decided to stay and work in tourism. With 20 years as a bird guide in northeastern and western Ecuador, Iris has served both German and English-speaking groups. In her free time, she enjoys family time, traveling, and sharing her knowledge through environmental education programs.

Juan Carlos is a biologist and birding guide with over 14 years of experience leading birdwatching and wildlife photography tours across Ecuador. He grew up exploring the dry forests and coastal landscapes of western Ecuador, and later moved to the lush cloud forests of the Chocó highlands — an experience that deepened his connection to nature and shaped his passion for Neotropical birds.

He is an avid traveler, photographer, and birder, his favorite species is the iconic Plate-billed Mountain-Toucan, a colorful emblem of the Andean cloud forest he once called home.

Arcenio is one of our recent additions to our Birding Team, born in Nanegalito in the west slope cloud forest. With over 10 years of experience in tourism, he leads birding and photography tours, combining strong field skills with a passion for capturing wildlife.

Carlos is an experienced local birding guide who leads our Amazon operations at Limoncocha Lagoon. Originally from the Tena region, he now works closely with his community in Limoncocha, offering our guest private canoe services.
