Observe the Andean Cock of the Rock Lek and 5 possible types of Antpittas!

Lunch at Alambi Hummingbird Paradise in Tandayapa Valley
At least 12 species of hummingbirds and 30 species of Exotic Birds

ITINERARY OF TOUR
Early pick up around 4:00 am from your hotel in Quito. Drive towards the West Slope Cloud Forest near Tandayapa Valley. Arrival around 5:45 am to Paz de las Aves Reserve, to start observation of the Andean Cock of the Rock Lek, a display of singing sounds by the male birds to attract the females, often happens only from 6am to 730am.
Morning birding in the reserve main trails to observe possible 5 different types of Antpittas, Quails, Tanagers, Saltators, Toucans and Quetzals.
Target Species: Andean Cock of the Rock, Black-winged Saltator, Masked Trogon, Ornate Flycatcher, Red-headed Barbet, Toucan Barbet, Crimson-mantled Woodpecker, Crimson-rumped Toucanet, Golden-headed Quetzal, Rufous Antpitta, Giant Antpitta, Ochre-breasted Antpitta, Yellow-breasted Antpitta, Scaled Antpitta, Dark-backed Wood-Quail, Flame-faced Tanager, Golden-napped Tanager, Bronze-winged Parrot, Red-billed Parrot and others.
After the reserve continue birding for possible Plate-billed Mountain Toucan. Then return to Quito with stop at Alambi Hummingbirds Paradise. At this feeder we can observe 12 species of Hummingbirds in less than 5 minutes, 2 types of Quetzals at close range, and Dippers near the shore's river. After lunch return to Quito and drop off at your hotel.
Target Birds: Violet-tailed Sylph, Brown Violetear, Buff-winged Starfrontlet, Brown Inca, Empress Brilliant, Booted-racket Tailed, Velvet-Purple Coronet, Purple-bibbed WhiteTipp, Andean Emerald, Rufous-tailed Hummingbird, Purple-throated Woodstar, Palm Tanager, Flamed-rumped Tanager, Buff-throated Saltator, Ecuadorian Thrush, Thick-billed Euphonia, Orange-breasted Euphonia, White-lined Tanager, Golden-napped Tanager, Crested-headed Quetzal, White-capped Dipper, Torrent Duck, White-whiskered Hermit, Tawny-bellied Hermit, Fawn-breasted Brilliant, Green-crowned Woodnymph, Andean Emerald and others.
