“A good day birding Andean condor, Andean Ibis, lots of black Chested Buzzard Eagles and caranculated caracaras. The condor observation tower and hike down towards the river were very nice. The antisana volcano was out from the clouds, there were deer, wild horses, and a nice lunch too. Highly recommended for birding tours in Ecuador“. “Jorge really knows his birds! He has a fantastic ear as well! The birds don’t seem to care if it is raining. We probably missed a few forest ground birds, but we did see almost 400 different species and a whole lot of them for the first time. The lodges were all wonderful, well equipped, friendly staff and great local food. We were over fed everywhere.We did miss one lodge due to road closure, but we felt lucky that we got to all the others! The last lodge ,at 11,500 feet, was spectacular!! With piles of wonderful food and postres and a room with an incredible view! We will highly recommend Ecuador Birds Tours if anyone asks!! – Sally Fellows.

We went for 10 days of birdwatching and 5 days in Galapagos. Ecuador Birds Tours was outstanding every minute of every day. The staff was attentive without being intimidating, the service was top-notch, the birder guides were well-informed and expert, always willing to go the extra mile to make sure you had a wonderful experience. We visited several of the family’s reserves and birding lodges and they were all outstanding and dedicated to warm hospitality, great birding experiences and the preservation and conservation of the ecosystem of the Eastern and Western slopes of the Andes. “My wife and I had the pleasure of going on Ecuador Bird Tours excursion for our 40th anniversary. The trip vastly exceeded our expectations! From the welcome we received at La Jimeneta to our final day, Diego and his staff treated us like family. Our guides were amazing making sure that we got on the bird as well as finding the best angle for a photo. We managed to see all our target birds and many more. The guides on our first two days were Daniel and Roberto, great guides and extremely knowledgeable. The remaining days we had Marcelo. At the end of our 10 days we counted 330 birds, 238 lifers and took about 1300 photos. I highly recommend Ecuador Bird Tours, Diego and his staff will tailor a tour for your goals and interests. “My wife and I cannot recommend this company enough. The lodges we stayed at on our tour included Hacienda Jimenita, Sachatamia Lodge, and San Isidro Lodge. They were all fantastic and the grounds of Jimenita were both gorgeous and fun to explore and there were some neat bird art pieces around the lodge. Food throughout the tour was exceptional.We will absolutely be doing business with this company again and highly recommend them for your future travel needs.” Robert Qually.

“Seeing birds, lots of them, and adding lifers is exactly what you want a birding trip to be. You get this and much more with Ecuador Bird Tours most capably managed by Diego Cruz. The exceptional guides provided by Ecuador Birds Tours: Miguel for six days and Oscar for three were often accompanied by a second, and sometimes even a third local guide.  I saw more than 300 species in 8 days of birding. This included a Harpy, 26 other birds of prey, 28 Hummingbirds, and well over 100 lifers. Also, within an hour of arrival we saw a spectacled bear and a giant anteater and anaconda at Sacha (and we saw 3 species of monkeys, 2 species of squirrels, agouti, and other animals).This was my second trip with Ecuador Birds Tours, and I really hope to go again.” David Northrup.

“Diego and Ecuador Birds Tour did an awesome job planning my 4 night birding and photography trip to Ecuador. I would highly recommend them for both photographers and those just looking to see a lot of birds. Diego helped me when one of my luggage was delayed over 24 hours requiring him to pick it up at the airport at almost midnight the night before I was scheduled to head to the Western cloud forests.
